Dermot O'Leary stunned and Alison Hammond taken aback as she 'proposed to' live on This Morning

Dermot O'Leary appeared as stunned as Alison Hammond when she was 'proposed to' live on This Morning. The duo were back together at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Friday (September 22) after they both had previous stints fronting the show this week with Holly Willoughby.

It was an exciting start to their stint together as they were joined by former Spurs footballer Allan Cockram who was live in the studio to chat about his post-professional career coaching the Brentford Penguins - the UK’s only football team for children with Down’s Syndrome.

Speaking about the team, Allan said: "All these amazing kids have different needs and this became something bigger than I ever dreamed of. What you see is what you get and I have an open door policy, I haven’t turned away any kid. We have 32 kids now, and we train every Sunday morning and it’s a special place for the parents to come and connect too. It’s a special community.”

He added: "I struggle at times because I think the kids give me more than I give them." And one of the young team members took a very particular shine to Alison.

Louis, who likes to do the commentary, first tried to interview Dermot before explaining that he had some chat-up lines for Alison. Louis asked: "Do you live in Tennessee?" to which Alison replied: "No I don’t live in Tennessee…" A smiling Louis then said: "Well you’re the only ten that I see!"

Which left Alison blushing and the rest of the group giggling. As they then tried to wrap up the interview, Louis interjected: "I've got some more chat up lines.
