Holly Willoughby gets new This Morning co-host on Monday - and it's a very familiar face

Holly Willoughby has landed herself another new This Morning co-host - and they start on Monday (September 25). The presenter hasn't had a permanent co-host since Phillip Schofield's sudden exit in May.

Phillip, 61, initially 'stepped back' from his role on the ITV daytime show after more than 20 years as he said rumours about his fractured relationship behind the scenes with Holly Willoughby had 'become the story'.

However, he then issued his resignation a week later after he admitted to an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a younger male colleague on the show. Holly then extended her planned half-term break from the programme and returned with a direct statement to viewers.

But she had already commented after his statement, the 42-year-old said she was 'hurt' that she had been lied to, while ITV bosses expressed their 'deep disappointment' over Phillip's 'deceit'.

Since her comeback, Holly has been seen hosting alongside a rotating rosta of ITV stars including Josie Gibson, Alison Hammond, Dermot O'Leary and Craig Doyle. But on Monday, Ben Shephard is joining Holly at the helm in a break from his duties on Good Morning Britain.

The Tipping Point host's appointment to the role was revealed at the end of Friday's show with Alison and Dermot. Alison shared: "Holly will be back on Monday when she's gonna be presenting alongside the lovely Ben Shephard," as Dermot added: "Yeah, as it should be!"
