Holly Willoughby all smiles as she supports cause close to heart amid This Morning reunion

Holly Willoughby appeared on top form as she returned to public life to support a cause close to her heart. The former This Morning star took a step away from the spotlight after a security guard was jailed over a plot to kidnap, rape and murder her.

The shocking trial came months after Holly quit ITV's This Morning last October. after 14 years at the helm alongside Phillip Schofield, who excited in May of the same year following his admission of an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger colleague.

Holly, 43, said at the time that it had been an 'honour to just be part of its story', but said it was a call she had to make for herself and her family before more details about the terrifying plot on the star was revealed.

On Wednesday (September 11) Holly was seen joining fellow famous faces at the BGC Charity Day to fundraise for the children’s charity Together For Short Lives amid her few public appearances since the start of the year.

Earlier this year, she hosted ITV’s Dancing On Ice along with Stephen Mulhern, and the pair are set to present the rebooted game show You Bet! on the same channel.

At the annual event organised by BGC Partners, she greeted children while dressed in a blue suit and wearing a badge promoting Together For Short Lives, which supports children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families.

Holly has been a patron of the charity since it was founded in 2011, and has previously appeared at the BGC event to advocate for the organisation. The event is held to commemorate 658 Cantor Fitzgerald staff and 61 EuroBrokers employees who died
