Hodgson points out poor Hull FC discipline in Wakefield defeat
Hull FC head coach Brett Hodgson pointed to his sides poor discipline after they were beaten 19-18 at Wakefield.
The Black and Whites led 18-6 at half time, but after losing Jake Connor to a second half knee injury, both penalties and six agains invited Wakefield back into the contest.
Eventually that pressure told, with Hull struggling for field position and Wakefield levelling the scores before landing the decisive blow in golden point.

"I thought we got penalties and six agains that put a hell of a lot of pressure on us," Hodgson told Hull Live. "Some of them were warranted but some of those were really harsh I thought.
"We just didn't get a chance in the second half. We couldn't get off our try line and it seemed like we were defending constantly. That gasses you and then puts you in a position where you make poor decisions defensively."
Still, regardless of that pressure, Hodgson believes Hull still should have held firm, with Wakefield's second try coming off a Hull error.
It then got worse, and after missing chances to win the game themselves after not setting a platform, it was Wakefield's Jacob Miller, a former Hull half, who stepped up.
"I think that the two tries we gave up in the second half were both defendable, and regardless whether Darnell (McIntosh) dropped the ball or they were hands in there," Hodgson continued.
"We needed to do better in those moments and we need our senior players to step up in those situations. The first drop goal we went on tackle four. We could have got a little bit closer. That is not the reason we lost the game, but again we could have done better in those moments."
