The return of Micah Parsons to Dallas ended in a wild 40-40 overtime tie between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys on «Sunday Night Football.»

Dallas took the lead in the extra period with 4:42 remaining after a Brandon Aubrey 22-yard field goal. Facing a fourth-and-six with 3:50 left with the game on the line, Packers quarterback Jordan Love connected with wide receiver Matthew Golden for 14 yards. With one second remaining, Brandon McManus hit a 34-yard kick to force a tie.

The 40-40 score marks the highest-scoring tie since 1974 when the overtime period was instituted in the regular season, according to ESPN Research.

The two teams traded scores in the second half, with touchdowns coming on six straight possessions in the second half.

Green Bay scored on what seemed to be decisive play with Love connecting with wide receiver Romeo Doubs on a 15-yard score with 1:45 remaining in the game. However, Dallas marched down the field, going 52 yards in 62 seconds as quarterback Dak Prescott connected with wide receiver George Pickens on a 28-yard touchdown.

With 35 seconds remaining in the game, the Packers set up a 53-yard field goal for Brandon McManus, who nailed it to force overtime.

Love threw for 337 yards and three touchdowns, while running back Josh Jacobs ran for 86 yards and two scores. Prescott added 319 passing yards and three touchdowns himself. Without star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, Dallas was led by Pickens' 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
