Hibs told to take a look at THEMSELVES over fan behaviour before cutting away allocations

Former Hibs star Tam McManus has called for the Easter Road club to get their own house in order before cutting away allocations after Wednesday’s derby missile madness.

Hearts skipper Lawrence Shankland was targeted by flying lighters, bottle openers and even a pie as he waited to take a penalty in front of the away end during the 1-1 draw at Tynecastle. Just 24 hours earlier Hibs chief executive Ben Kensell had told the club’s AGM they could cut ticket allocations to Rangers and Celtic fans at Easter Road over concerns about away fans’ behaviour.

McManus has been worried about a trend of misbehaviour across many top flight clubs’ fans this season and fears someone could be seriously injured if the missile maniacs aren't stopped.

Hibs midfielder Emiliano Marcondes was also targeted by Hearts fans as he attempted to take a corner on Wednesday. And Record Sport columnist McManus said: “You don’t want to see what happened on Wednesday. It’s just not on.

“Unfortunately there’s been a lot of misbehaviour with away fans of different clubs at grounds this season, be it pyrotechnics or missiles. It was ironic Ben Kensell was talking about cutting away allocations on Tuesday when 24 hours later the Hibs supporters are throwing things at Lawrence Shankland. So maybe Hibs need to get their own house in order first.

“But it’s not just Hibs and it is a concern. Is it going to take for someone to get a bad facial injury or lose an eye for it to stop. Particularly at Tynecastle which is a very, very tight ground. Fans are within touching distance of the players at times.
