Henrik Larsson reveals the Celtic night of woe that ranks as his career 'worst' as he takes humble 'Ghod' stance

Henrik Larsson admits Celtic's UEFA Cup heartbreak in 2003 still ranks as his career low.

The iconic Swede may have netted two goals in Seville but it was not enough to get the better of Porto - who won the Champions League a year later. Lead by an emerging Jose Mourinho, Martin O'Neill's men lost 3-2, and European glory would have only increased Larsson's lofty standings in the Parkhead fanbase.

Known as the King of Kings by supporters, the Swede no doubt has a place on most fans' Mount Rushmore. Speaking in January's edition of FourFourTwo, the 52-year-old admits wounds of Seville still hurt. He said when asked if it was the "worst" night of his career: "No doubt about it. It still hurts that we couldn't take that UEFA Cup back to Glasgow. We played a great game that night, but the circumstances didn't work out. The little details weren't on our side.

"That Porto team went on to win the Champions League [the following year]. That is testament to how good a team we had.

"At Celtic I made a name for myself in this industry, and the player I was. Everything I did in Glasgow was fantastic. The club and the fans always treated me with great affection, and I had sensational team-mates."

Despite his high-ranking, Larsson remained humble when asked what life as a "Ghod" was like. He added: "Let me be modest, and say that I feel I am appreciated."
