'He's done that' - How George Thomason has become 'impossible' to leave out at Bolton Wanderers

Ian Evatt believes George Thomason has become 'impossible' to leave out at Bolton Wanderers and that other players must take a leaf of his book when it comes to trying to get in and stay in the team.

Midfielder Thomason has had to be patient to wait for his chance at Wanderers. He has since started the last two games in League One.

He produced a man of the match performance in the 3-1 victory over Charlton Athletic. The youngster followed that up with another impressive showing in the win over MK Dons in midweek.

There is intense competition for places within the Wanderers squad and Thomason has taken the opportunity offered to him and grasped it with both hands. Evatt believes he has become 'impossible' to leave out and sent a message to the rest of the squad to try and emulate him in a bid to get in and stay in the team.

Evatt said: “Fundamentally, you can make it impossible for me to leave you out. George Thomason has highlighted that more than anybody.

“He had to wait patiently for his chance, trained his nuts off, and been one of the best players every single day. He has knocked on my door – not literally – but with his performances, professionalism and mindset, he got his chance and grasped it with both hands.

"It is impossible for me to leave him out at the moment. That is the route I’d go down.

“Who has done that? That isn’t me, he’s done that himself. That’s a fine example for a young player to come in, grasp it with both hands for everyone else.

"It does not matter how old you are or how many games you’ve played or how senior you are, look at that young man and say ‘wow, he’s done things correctly
