‘He looks completely lost’ - Journalist worried after what he's spotted at Leeds

Journalist Conor McGilligan has claimed Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk has looked ‘completely lost’ in recent weeks.

As we head towards the final stages of the season, the Whites look destined for a nervy finish as they hope to avoid relegation. As things stand, with four games left to play, they sit just two points and one place above the bottom three.

They’ll no doubt need their players at their best if they are to preserve their top-tier status. With that in mind, fans could be worried about the form of Struijk who has come under criticism form McGilligan recently.

Indeed, while speaking on the One Leeds Fan Channel, the journalist said (01:10:24): “I mean, I don’t know what’s going on with Pascal [Struijk] at the minute. I really don’t.”

“He looks completely lost. I mean, he’s only a young lad. But he’s going through a real a real moment.”

TIF thoughts on Pascal Struijk and Leeds…

Having been dropped to the bench in the two prior games, Struijk returned to the starting XI to face Manchester City on the weekend. With the game ending 4-0 it’s safe to say he didn’t enjoy the best afternoon and this was reflected in the BBC player ratings where he was given a scored of just 4.92.

It’s fair to say the defender hasn’t endured the best of season and played in everyone one of Leeds’ games earlier this year in which they lost six times in a row and conceded 21 times.

Taking it all into account, it’s not hard to see McGilligan highlight his struggles. Still, as the journalist points out, Struijk is only 22 years old and can hopefully come through this difficult period a better player.

Although, if he can’t fix his form soon, he could also come out of it as a Championship footballer, no longer in the Premier League.
