'He kills him!' - Why Man City didn't concede late penalty vs Liverpool FC as Jurgen Klopp put in his place
Jurgen Klopp pre-empted the official explanation for the late controversy during Liverpool's draw with Manchester City, and said he expects a call from PGMOL chief Howard Webb on Monday.
Liverpool were furious as Jeremy Doku let a ball bounce in the area and appeared to catch Alexis Mac Allister in the chest as he lifted his boot to try and clear the danger. Replays suggested that Doku got a slight touch on the ball, but other angles showed Mac Allister possibly getting to the ball first.
Referee Michael Oliver waved away the appeals, with VAR Stuart Attwell agreeing with the on-field referee. Klopp approached Oliver at full-time to plead his case, before telling broadcasters: "[It was] a penalty for all football people. This situation, in all positions on the pitch, is 100 per cent a foul. It's 100 per cent a foul and a yellow card."

Accepting that Doku may have got the ball first, Klopp continued to insist the challenge warranted a penalty, saying: "Because he [Doku] hit the ball, yes. But he could only hit the ball because his foot is right there. And yes, he hit the ball. But if the ball is not there, he kills him!. That's how it is, it's as easy as that.
"It's a penalty for all football people. It's a penalty for football people, if you think it's not one then maybe you're not a football fan."
In another interview, Klopp said: "It's a clear penalty, somebody will explain the reason why it's not or Howard Webb will call us tomorrow, both things will not change the result!"
However, as Klopp finished his broadcast
