Danish TV commentator responds to Jurgen Klopp interview row after Man United win

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been defended after he stormed out of a post-match interview following Sunday's 4-3 defeat to Manchester United.

The German ended a routine interview with Danish television channel Viaplay prematurely after becoming irked by Niels Christian Frederiksen's line of questioning. The incident was spread widely across social media and went viral in the latest spat in the Liverpool manager's career on Merseyside.

The Anfield club will now be left to mull over their bruising defeat to their rivals following the dramatic loss, despite coming from behind to lead twice, before they resume Premier League action against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Going into the international break, the current talking point is the manner in how Klopp handled his post-match interview with the Danish outlet. And Frederiksen has spoken out following the controversy, as he revealed the dispute continued after the cameras turned off.

"I was very surprised by it, and those standing around were scared, and they were almost pressed up against the wall like: 'wow, what the hell just happened here?'" He told Tipsbladet.

"It continued after what was seen on TV. He continued down the hallway, where he yelled and screamed at me. I also followed him because I thought it was something strange.

"I was very surprised, while some looked very shocked, and they asked: 'Are you okay?' and of course I'm okay.
