'He doesn't know' - Haaland brutally hits back at Alexander-Arnold after Man City spending dig

Erling Haaland has delivered the ultimate putdown to Trent Alexander-Arnold's criticism of Manchester City's spending.

City take on Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool side on Sunday at Anfield in a Premier League clash that will offer a huge say in where the title ends up in May. Liverpool lead City by a point after 27 games.

In the last six seasons, City have won the title five times, with Liverpool securing their only Premier League title in 2019/20. And in an interview this week, Alexander-Arnold said Liverpool's trophies under Klopp 'mean more' to their club and fans 'because of the situations at both clubs, financially.'

It doesn't take a financial expert to pick holes in Alexander-Arnold's argument. While City have admittedly spent more than £1.2bn on transfers under Pep Guardiola, Liverpool have still spent between £803m to £1.28bn. Per trophy, Klopp has spent £80m on players with Guardiola averaging. City have spent more but also won more.

In response, City striker Erling Haaland summed up the comments of his counterpart by focussing on the feeling he experienced when winning the treble last season - and pointing out that Alexander-Arnold wouldn't know what that was like.

Haaland told Sky Sports: "If he wants to say that okay. I've been here one year and won the treble and it was quite a nice feeling. I don't think he knows that feeling. That's what I felt last season, it was quite nice.

"They can talk as much as they want or we can talk as much as we want. I don't know why he does that, but I don't mind."
