'Has told Liverpool...' - Paul Joyce drops significant news regarding 'sensational' superstar

Mohamed Salah is hellbent on immediately returning to action for Liverpool against Leicester City this week, according to reliable journalist Paul Joyce.

The 29-year-old suffered final heartbreak in the Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday night, as Egypt lost on penalties to Sadio Mane’s Senegal.

It was Mane who fired home the winning spot-kick before Salah was even able to take his effort and it is now time to focus on Liverpool duty again.

While most mere mortals would need a break after a gruelling tournament – Egypt played 120 minutes four times in a row – the Reds superstar has other ideas.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, Joyce confirmed that Salah wants to play against Leicester on Thursday night, as the Foxes make the trip to Anfield off the back of a horrendous display at Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup:

This sums up the level of drive and professionalism that exists within Salah – he has been hailed as ‘sensational’ by teammate Andy Robertson – with the attacker someone who simply wants to play football relentlessly.

He is an incredible physical specimen, which helps him retain a remarkable level of fitness – the winger has only missed three games at Liverpool through injury. Indeed, it wouldn’t be a great shock to see him on the pitch against Leicester, looking to make up for his international heartache.

That being said, Jurgen Klopp must handle Salah with care, ensuring he doesn’t suffer burnout later in the season, so perhaps it would be most wise to see him from the substitutes’ bench.

In other news, a reporter has shared a key Liverpool transfer update. Read more here.
