Harry Kane joins Ange fan club as Tottenham boss sees old Celtic trick work a treat on superstar striker

Ange Postecoglou has struck Tottenham hitman Harry Kane with a "positive" first impression as the pair get round the table for crucial talks.

The former Celtic boss will have to use all his charm and lay it all out on the table for England's record goalscorer, whose head could be turned by a bumper £80million offer from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. Kane has given tirelessly to Tottenham but could be set to call time on his adventure in North London with Postecoglou trying to avoid the disaster scenario of losing his prized asset before his spell at Spurs truly begins. The Aussie pencilled in crunch talks with the 29-year-old as a first port of call in his new role.

Now the two have met with Football London reporting that Postecoglou left a positive first impression on the goal machine. The report states the pair 'got on well' during their early exchanges as the Aussie puts his new side through their paces at the Hotspur Way. Spurs chief Daniel Levy could yet hold out for a bigger offer for Kane, but it appears his newly-appointed gaffer is going some way to keep the forward in London.

It's a trait that the 57-year-old exuded at Celtic with many players who arrived in Glasgow claiming it was a chat with Postecoglou that sold them on a move. Yet Postecoglou himself moved to dismiss claims of a campaign to convince Kane to stay, rather than just a conversation and exchanging of ideas.
