Hamilton Accies make fourth summer signing with defender from Ayr United

Hamilton Accies have swooped for defender Sean McGinty after his release from Ayr United.

The 30-year-old becomes boss John Rankin's fourth signing of the summer after the arrivals of Steven Bradley, Barry Maguire and fellow former Ayr man Charlie Albinson.

He has penned a two-year deal as Accies strengthen further for their push in next season's Scottish Championship.

McGinty said: “I am delighted to sign for Hamilton for the next two seasons. I can’t wait to get going in the coming days and look forward to seeing everyone at New Douglas Park when the season kicks off.

Rankin said: “I’m really pleased to get Sean in. He’s a powerful defender with plenty of experience in the league and is another leader with a voice.

“He likes the physical side of the game and isn’t afraid to put his body on the line for the team, so I’m really looking forward to working with him and getting him in with the boys for pre-season.”
