Hamilton Accies learn UEFA Youth League draw opponents

Hamilton Accies have learned their opponents in the UEFA Youth League domestic champions path draw in Switzerland, having qualified for the second time in five years.

The will face Norwegian side Molde FK in the first round on October 4 and 25, with the winner playing against either holders AZ Alkmaar of Netherlands or Lithuanian side Klaipeda in the second round on November 8 and 29

Accies are away to Molde in the first leg, with the winners also away in the second round opener.

A total of 32 entrants were drawn in two home and away knockout rounds, with eight play-off slots on offer.

Eight eventual domestic champions path second round winners will then host eight Champions League path group runners-up in the play-off round, which is on February 6 or 7.

They then join eight group winners in the round of 16 on February 27/28, with the one-legged knockout phase on March 12/13, leading to a one-venue four-team final tournament in April.

AZ Alkmaar won the tournament for the first time last season, beating Hajduk Split.

Hamilton Accies won the Club Academy Scotland elite Under-18 league, qualifying them for the UEFA Youth League for the second time in five years, having played against FC Basel and Midtjylland in 2018.
