Former Rangers winger interests Hamilton Accies boss after contract ripped up
Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin has admitted he would be interested in signing former Rangers winger Josh McPake.
The 22-year-old, who scored for Queen's Park against Accies last season, is a free agent after having his Ibrox contract terminated by mutual consent on deadline day.
Accies have been linked with a move for the Coatbridge player over the summer and the League One outfit are actively looking to bolster their squad with a few additions from either the loan or free agent market.
Asked about a potential move for McPake after yesterday's 2-2 draw with Stirling Albion, Rankin said: "Anybody that is free, we have an interest in.
"He obviously left Rangers on Friday night and we didnt know much about that, but I'm sure he will have many clubs looking at him to enchance their squad.
"If anybody is available to enhance our squad, it is certainly something we will look at.
"I have not had any contact with the player, his agent or his former club.
"But he has sorted his own personal situation now, so we will see where we go from there."
Accies sold teen starlet Ryan One to Sheffield United yesterday and a deal was also agreed with Nottingham Forest for 16-year-old Cormac Daly.
