Hamilton Accies boss 'doesn't know where side are in table' ahead of huge Falkirk clash

John Rankin insists he doesn't know how many points his Hamilton Accies side are on in League One - because he won't look at the table.

He might not know it, but his charges are joint-top of the tree with title rivals Falkirk, who have a game in hand, ahead of today's top-of-the-table clash at New Douglas Park.

Only goal difference is separating them, with Accies four goals better off.

And asked about the significance of the game with the Bairns, Rankin said: "I have not looked at the table and I can't tell you where we are, where they are, how many points we've got.

"I am honestly not interested at this stage of the season.

"It is a case of it being another game, there are three points available, and can we go and get them.

"If you start talking about it being a 'six-pointer' or a bigger game than any other one, you start taking your focus off of what is in front of you."

The sides drew 0-0 at the Falkirk Stadium in October when they last met and win for Hamilton would all but ensure they remain top of the tree for Christmas.
