Hairdresser predicts Oasis will spark mod hair trend – and issues vital warning

Oasis' reunion has caused quite a storm on social media, and many fans have joked about reviving their 90s haircuts for when they see the brothers live - but are they being serious, or is the Oasis 'mod cut' a thing of the past?

With many taking to X, formerly Twitter, to joke that they'll get the famous chop done before summer 2025, many are wondering whether Manchester is set to look like a 90s throwback in the coming year.

Murdock London's Master Barber and Creative Director Miles Wood-Smith reckons that you should prepare yourself for the mod cut to get seriously popular again, as he said: "As the excitement builds around the potential Oasis reunion, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see the 90s mod haircut making a strong comeback."

Miles said: "This style is timeless and versatile, especially as we head into Autumn 2025. The beauty of the mod cut is its adaptability - it can be tailored to suit different lengths and textures, making it a great choice for anyone wanting to tap into that iconic look with a modern twist."

But he did have one warning for those 90s lovers who want to try the look again, sharing that "communication with your barber is key to nailing the style". He also shared: "Also make sure you're 100% happy with the plan before any cutting starts as it's very hard to put hair back on after it's off."
