Woman told off by doctor for peeing incorrectly - and others are 'concerned'

We've all been using the loo incorrectly our entire lives.

Everyone urinates, and once we're old enough to ditch the nappies, visiting the loo is something we all do several times every single day. But did you know you've probably been doing it wrong all this time?

That's the revelation one woman had after she attended a doctor's appointment and was informed of the "correct" way to empty her bladder. After sharing the surprising information in a viral TikTok video, many others confessed they'd been doing it the wrong way too - leaving several "worried".

In her video, a woman named Katie explained she was at the doctor's having a vaginal ultrasound, for which you need to completely empty your bladder. Katie thought nothing of the task until her doctor gave her some sound advice before she headed to the bathroom.

The woman shared: "[She said] 'You have to go to the bathroom, but don't push'. I was like, 'excuse me? ' and she was like, 'Just breathe through your nose and don't push, we need to make sure that you clear out your entire bladder'. She described it as just a release and not a push."

Katie was puzzled by the information as she declared herself a "pusher" and said she "always" pushed whenever she's gone to the toilet. But her doctor was adamant you should "release" and never push.

She recounted: "[She said] 'You'll know that you're at the last bits of pee if it gets warm at the end'. I was like, 'What do you mean, warm at the end? What does that even mean? ' So I went to the bathroom and I sat down, and I breathed through my nose. And I waited, and I waited, and I'm impatient but I waited. And then the last little trickles were just like, warm."

After following the advice, her doctor confirmed she "did it right"
