A Greater Manchester Police officer is due in court after being charged with battery and strangulation which allegedly occurred during an off-duty incident in Halifax, Yorkshire last year.

PC James Morrow, who works for the force in the Rochdale area, was charged with two counts of battery and another of strangulation following an investigation by West Yorkshire Police, reports YorkshireLive.

Morrow, 29, has been suspended from duty. He will appear before Bradford Magistrates on Monday (March 20). The offences relate to incidents which occurred off-duty in Halifax last year. "PC James Morrow, aged 29, of Rochdale District was charged following an investigation by West Yorkshire Police.
