Graeme Jones 'lined up' for Hearts gig as Jambos look to poach SFA performance director

Graeme Jones is being lined up for a new role at Hearts, according to a report.

The SFA's performance director is thought to be highly rated by the Tynecastle club and they are keen to see him make the switch from Hampden, according to the Hearts Standard. The Jambos are yet to replace former sporting director Joe Savage after he stepped down earlier this summer after three-and-a-half years in Gorgie.

Jones is unlikely to be brought in as a like-for-like replacement, with Jones' background primarily in sports science and medicine rather than recruitment. Roles at Raith Rovers and UEFA preceded his spell with the governing body, which began with him working as their head of high performance before becoming performance director last year, working closely with national team boss Steve Clarke, with the women's team, Under 21s and youth sides also all part of his remit.
