"Going to be a big attraction" - Journalist hints Arsenal could tempt in-demand £50m ace to sign

If Arsenal can secure Champions League football next season, then it will be a ‘big attraction’ for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Molineux in recent months following several impressive displays throughout his five successful years at the club.

According to The Sun, Wolves opened contract talks with Neves last month in a bid to retain his services beyond the current campaign.

The technically gifted maestro’s existing deal doesn’t expire until the summer of 2024, but a host of European football’s giants have been credited with an interest in his services.

Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are all believed to be monitoring Neves’ progress, while Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is also said to have the £50 million-rated star high up on his transfer wish list.

And a recent report in The Athletic revealed that there is ‘an acceptance’ within the Wolves hierarchy that the 26-cap Portugal international could be moved on when the market reopens.

Arsenal are currently in pole position to secure fourth place in the Premier League, and O’Rourke believes qualifying for Europe’s elite cup competition would make them an attractive proposition for Neves.

He told GiveMeSport: “I think right now, probably you’re thinking the decision is going to have to come from Ruben Neves in regards to his future. Does he see his future at Wolves? Or is it time to move on now for a new challenge?
