'Goals' - Merson delivers Leicester City vs Southampton prediction & makes Vardy claim

Football pundit Paul Merson predicts a "lot of goals" when Leicester City host Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday.

The two sides meet at the King Power Stadium on Sunday to conclude their domestic season. Very little is available to be played for by either side, apart from the Foxes being able to leapfrog Wolves into eighth-position in the Premier League. Brendan Rodgers' side have a hint of confidence inside them after a run of three games without defeat in the top-flight; they have beaten relegated sides Watford and Norwich City, and drew 1-1 with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Writing for Sportskeeda ahead of the game, Merson highlighted the two sides' "free flowing football" as a cause for plenty of goals when they meet on Sunday. He said: "This is a great end-of-season game involving two sides that play free flowing football. Jamie Vardy has returned to his best in recent weeks and is a player I'm a big fan of. He's really sharp and is a good finisher, I think he definitely has another season left in him if he's looked after properly.

"Neither of these teams has anything to play for, so I think we'll see a lot of goals as they'll look to express themselves."

Vardy, 35, has a year left on his current Leicester City contract but has previously spoken about his desire to continue playing beyond the terms of his existing deal.

"I've not got any plan at all of retiring, I want to play for this club (Leicester) for as long as possible and try to be as successful as possible with them," said Vardy last summer when being interviewed after purchasing shares in US side Rochester Rhinos.
