GMP issue statement as 15 people arrested at Man City vs Man United
Fifteen people were arrested for a variety of offences at the Manchester derby on Sunday.
Police said the 'vast majority' of the 53,000 fans who attended the Manchester City vs Manchester United clash at the Etihad stadium 'enjoyed their day responsibly and safely'. The 15 arrests were the result of a huge proactive police operation, as well as a number of reports made by members of the public.
Of the 15 people arrested, 13 were taken into custody to be questioned. Two people were de-arrested, Greater Manchester Police said.

Five people were arrested on suspicion of drug offences while five people were arrested on suspicion of assault. Two people were arrested over 'tragedy chanting'.
One man was arrested on suspicion throwing a missile onto the pitch and being in possession of a firework or flare at the sporting event. Adam McNally, 30, of Bullcote Green, Royton, has since been charged with the offences and bailed with conditions.

"Most of the arrests this weekend were the result of proactive policing and members of the public reporting incidents to us.
"A thorough policing operation was in place and GMP worked closely with partner agencies including local authorities, British Transport Police, Transport for Greater Manchester, and both football clubs to ensure the safety of all spectators and supporters who watched the match.
