Jadon Sancho responds to Manchester United FA Cup win over Liverpool with two-word message

Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho has praised Marcus Rashford following the Red Devils' 4-3 win against Liverpool.

United had earned themselves extra-time in the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool thanks to Antony's late strike in normal time. However, the odds were stacked against them going into the second period of the additional 30 minutes after Harvey Elliott's deflected strike beat Andre Onana.

But, the Reds were not dead and buried with Rashford kickstarting the comeback with a well-placed equaliser. It would be Amad who eventually stole the headlines though as the substitute broke on the counter attack to slot the ball beyond the reach of Caoimhin Kelleher.

The goal sparked jubilant scenes at Old Trafford as United secured their place in the semi-finals of the competition with Coventry City the opponents at Wembley Stadium next month. Taking to Instagram after the match, Rashford could not help but celebrate as he posted: "NIGHTS LIKE THIS!" As he shared an image of him celebrating in front of the Stretford End.

One interested observer was Sancho who quickly responded to the post with the comment: "World Class!" Rashford and Sancho are known to have a close bond which was formed at their clubs as well as with the international team.

It is unlikely that Sancho managed to watch the game live after being named on the bench for Dortmund's 3-1 Bundesliga victory over Eintracht Frankfurt. The English winger finds himself on loan in Germany after a public falling out with Erik ten Hag.
