Glen Kamara reveals the unspoken Rangers title ambition as dressing room insider lifts the lid on Ibrox pal dream

Glen Kamara has revealed that an old Rangers pal has admitted dreaming of lifting the title in front of the fans this term - and wants to see the same thing.

The former Light Blues star made the move to Elland Road in the summer as part of former boss Michael Beale's - who has since been axed by Sunderland - rebuild with the midfielder brought down south to help fire his new club straight back to the English Premier League.

Steven Gerrard took the midfielder to Ibrox in a bargain £90,000 deal after he had agreed a pre-contract to make the move to Govan from Dundee. The clubs thrashed out a fee to get the deal done quicker and it proved to be one of the best pieces of business for the Liverpool hero. Kamara starred at the top level for Rangers and was a key part of that famous Europa League run all the way to the final in Seville while he was also instrumental in the title winning season that ended Celtic's domestic dominance in style.

The Light Blues are out to finish above Celtic once again this campaign and Kamara reckons the top two will be split by the final two Old Firm games with the destiny of the title riding on those two huge 90 minute occasions. He is still in contact with his former team-mates and would love nothing more than to see them hold the trophy aloft in May. Not only for themselves but for the fans - who had to watch from afar the last time they won the title.

The current Rangers crop under Philippe Clement have overturned a large points deficit on Celtic and Brendan Rodgers to currently sit at the league summit by two points.
