Glasgow City goalkeeper Lee Gibson aims to add to her 10 SWPL titles after signing new deal

Lee Gibson has signed a contract extension at Glasgow City, as the Scotland international seeks to add more silverware to her glittering collection.

The 31-year-old, who hails from East Kilbride, is in her second spell with the Scottish champions and has now committed her future to the club until 2025.

In her time with the Petershill Park side, Gibson (nee Alexander) has so far claimed 10 SWPL titles, six Scottish Cups and four Scottish Women’s Premier League Cups. She has made 217 appearances for the club since her debut in 2011 against Inverness City.

She has also represented her country at the 2017 European Championships and 2019 World Cup.

“I am really happy to be extending my contract here at City," Gibson told the club media.

“I have been incredibly fortunate to represent the club creating so many incredible moments and lots of amazing memories here.

"I'm looking forward to working alongside the players and staff here to create even more!”

Head Coach Leanne Ross hailed Gibson "the ultimate professional" and said: “I am delighted Lee has extended her contract at the club. It is difficult to emphasis just how important Lee is to us and what she has contributed to the continued success we have enjoyed as a club, but her record more than speaks for itself.
