Gillingham FC open up the Town End for home supporters to watch this Saturday’s League 2 game against Harrogate Town, with tickets on sale for just £5
Gillingham are hoping tickets for a fiver will help pack Priestfield this Saturday.
The Gills will be looking to extend their record-breaking 21-game unbeaten run and remain top of League 2 when they host Harrogate Town at the weekend.
In an effort to attract more fans to see the Gills, the club are opening up the bottom part of the Town End for home supporters, with tickets costing just £5.
Owners Brad and Shannon are backing a fan-led bid to try and get 8,000 fans inside Priestfield this weekend.
They penned a message to fans, after announcing that their ‘temporary’ scaffold stand, that’s stood behind the goal for the best part of 25 years, will be back open for home spectators.
The top half remains out of bounds and unfit for use, taken over now by advertising banners for the stand’s sponsors showersealuk.com.
The Galinsons said: “Our incomparable group of players and staff now hold the record for the longest unbeaten run in the 132 year history of the Football Club.
“Although no trophies are handed out for such an achievement, we could not let the moment pass without celebration.
“As thanks to both the squad, and the loyal supporters who have informally launched the “Project 8000” campaign, we are opening some of the lower tier of the Brian Moore Stand, sponsored by Shower Seal, for Saturday’s game against Harrogate Town.
“We love the passion and enthusiasm of (Gills fan) Warren Taylor and those who have shared his efforts to get more people inside MEMS Priestfield Stadium to back the boys, as we build on a great start to the season. Tickets are on sale with immediate effect.
“Football for a Fiver! Tell your family, tell your friends, tell your neighbours and let’s pack Priestfield!”
