Gemma Atkinson addresses Gorka Marquez new Strictly dance partner for first time and says 'I'm not bothered'

Gemma Atkinson has addressed Gorka Marquez's new Strictly Come Dancing dance partner for the first time since viewers discovered who the Spanish professional would be competing with this year.

Gorka, 33, was seen back in the ballroom on Saturday night (September 16) as fans of the BBC One dance competition discovered which celebrity had been paired with which professional dancer for the first time ahead of the 2023 run of competition really starts this Saturday (September 23).

Fans watched as Gorka surprised Nikita Kanda on the roof of the BBC building as she waited for her professional dance partner to arrive. The radio and TV presenter revealed her family’s reaction to her taking part in the show, saying: "My mum cried, she was so happy, it’s made everyone feel good and have a bit of a smile on their face."

Gorka went on to reveal during the pre-recorded launch show that their first dance, during the first live show of the series on Saturday, will be the Waltz and that they have already decided that their team name is 'Gorkita'.

While he was able to watch the pre-recorded action unfold alongside fiancee Gemma, their daughter Mia and their baby son, Thiago, Gorka swiftly had to leave his family behind as he swapped their Greater Manchester home for London where he has been rehearsing with Nikita.

Taking to Instagram, the dad-of-two shared a string of images featuring Mia and Thiago, also known by Tio for short, as well as Gemma who was seen doting on her two adorable children before taking a phone call when Gorka snapped a picture of
