Gary Neville sends message to Glazers with Manchester United verdict vs Southampton

Gary Neville has sent a message to the Glazers after Manchester United's victory over Southampton. United and the Saints were evenly matched in the first half at St Mary's with both sides having a couple of chances each.

Christian Eriksen went closest for the Reds but his effort was blocked in a goalmouth scramble. After the break, United managed to find the only goal of the game. A good ball into the area by Diogo Dalot picked out Bruno Fernandes who cushioned a brilliant volley past Gavin Bazunu.

For the remainder of the half, Erik ten Hag's side had to rely on their defence to keep out the Southampton pressure and they held firm for back-to-back victories.

Providing his reaction after the full-time whistle, Neville was pleased with the result but he did not change his stance on the ownership.

He tweeted: "Solid performance and win for United and a good week. The team look more together and it’s been a very good recovery from Brentford.

"Long way to go but better. But they still need to go."

United fans continued to protest against the ownership at St Mary's with anti-Glazers chants heard throughout the 90 minutes. Neville has been a big critic of the Glazers, especially this season where he called them out following the 4-0 defeat to Brentford.
