Gary Neville says he has “gut feeling” about the Glazers selling Manchester United

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has claimed he has a "gut feeling" regarding the possibility of the Glazers selling United to new owners in the near future.

The chants of 'Glazers Out' have been a constant backdrop to United games recently, with no sign of the fan unrest over the American owners disappearing anytime soon. The supporters have been keen to ensure that the club's late signing of Antony from Ajax this summer does not distract from the wider problems the club has faced over the past decade.

Sir Lewis Hamilton has been the latest person to reignite talk of a potential takeover, as he was asked about his involvement of a bid with British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Hamilton was part of a failed attempt to buy Chelsea earlier this summer, and now it appears the life-long Arsenal fan could be interested in making a bid to relinquish the Glazers' control of the club.

Hamilton declared his potential interest, as he said: "I haven’t had a call from him [Sir Jim Ratcliffe] asking if I want to be involved in that [a United bid] just yet. But I do want to get more and more involved in teams because I really do believe in black ownership, there is a lack of it in sports. And black equity, again, there is a real lack of that."

Although fans are still waiting for further news over that potential takeover bid, Neville has now revealed that he is quietly optimistic about the possibility of the Glazers selling the club in the near future.
