Mikel Arteta on Arsenal again falling at the final hurdle
Manchester United legend Gary Neville's prediction on Arsenal has been proven right as Tottenham Hotspur look all but set to finish top four.
The Gunners found themselves six points clear of Spurs not too long ago following a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa back in March. Despite the majority of fans and pundits considering Mikel Arteta 's side the favourites to finish fourth, Neville was still not convinced.
Speaking on Sky Sports, in March, he said: "I still think United could [get fourth place]. I don't trust Arsenal fully. Manchester United have still got to go to Arsenal, there's a long way to go."
The former England right-back then doubled down on his comments less than a fortnight later, claiming that the pressure could easily get to Arteta's young squad in the latter part of the season. "I said I didn't trust Arsenal because I have not seen them go through these last ten games, with a little bit of pressure on them that hasn't existed before because people expect them now to finish fourth," he said.
He then added: "I have that sneaky feeling that Manchester United has so much more to call upon in terms of players." Whilst United are set to finish sixth, Neville was still right about the Gunners capitulating.
