Gary Neville, Man United and Man City lead five year Manchester arena anniversary tributes

Gary Neville has paid his respects on the five year anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing.

On May 22, 2017, a suicide bomber detonated a homemade bomb as people were leaving the Manchester Arena, now AO Arena, following a concert by pop star Ariana Grande. The blast killed 22 people, as well as the attacker, while over 1,000 were also injured.

Tributes and messages of remembrance are being posted on social media on Sunday to pay tribute to those who tragically lost their lives and Neville is one of them. The retired Manchester United legend took to Twitter on Sunday and wrote: "Manchester," accompanied by a bee and broken heart emoji.

Manchester City's official account also tweeted "this city remembers" in regards to the anniversary.
