Gary Neville identifies two things Manchester United lack but will need at Liverpool FC

Former captain Gary Neville believes Manchester United are missing both the leadership and quality required to spring a surprise result against Liverpool at Anfield this coming weekend.

United will make the short trip to Merseyside with the ambition of getting their Premier League campaign back on track after Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford. Goals either side of half-time from Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi sealed a comfortable win for the Cherries, who had never previously won in M16.

Though United, firstly, face a do-or-die clash with Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night, fears among some supporters are already setting in ahead of the clash with Jurgen Klopp's side. United have lost their last two visits to Anfield by an aggregate scoreline of 11-0, losing 7-0 on their most recent visit in March.

Though nothing can be ruled out in football, certainly in the Premier League, Neville does not believe this current United team has it in them to visit the current league leaders and knock them off their perch. He has, however, admitted that Liverpool's players and boss Klopp will not approach the game with a mindset of thinking it will be easy.

"That result on Saturday was a disgrace," Neville told Sky Sports. "Well done to Bournemouth but it should not happen.
