LIVE: M60 fully closed with delays of over an hour while M6 is also shut one way in morning of traffic mayhem - latest updates

There are huge delays on both the M6 and M60 this morning with closures in place.

All traffic has been stopped on a stretch of the M60 between junction 27 for Stockport and junction 25 for Bredbury on the anti-clockwise carriageway. It is also stopped on the clockwise carriageway between junction 24 and 25 due to 'ongoing police-led incident'.

There are currently delays of over an hour. Stagecoach is also reporting a road closure on Lingard Lane, which runs over the motorway in Stockport.

On the M6, the northbound carriageway is fully shut at junction 21 near Warrington after a 'serious crash'. Traffic was previously being held both ways.

There are long delays on both sides of the motorway, with a 90-minute delay northbound. Traffic is being diverted off at the entry and exit slip roads.
