Gary Neville gives honest verdict on Paul Pogba comments about Manchester United

Gary Neville has admitted he isn't bothered about Paul Pogba's controversial comments about Manchester United.

Pogba's second stint at United will conclude at the end of the month when he leaves on a free transfer. Amazon Prime have released a documentary around Pogba this week and the series follows the midfielder over the last year.

The documentary covers areas in Pogba's private life including his negotiations with United over a new contract. The late Mino Raiola was Pogba's representative and the series shows private conversations between the pair, some in which United are criticised.

In the documentary, Pogba claims United's contract offer is 'nothing', despite the club offering him a new deal with improved terms on his existing £290,000-a-week deal. However, Neville said he wasn't bothered that when asked about the player.

"I'm not bothered about Pogba's comments to be honest with you," Neville said during an Instagram Live. "I think that once a player has left, he can say whatever he wants. Fine, no problem. But I don't think he has performed well over the last six years. I don't think the club have performed well with him either, or handled him well.

"It's been a partnership that, to be fair, has failed on both sides so that is what you'd have to say on that one. There is no winner when a player leaves after six years with the money that has been spent and very little has been won.

"The player leaves dissatisfied and the club are dissatisfied with it as well. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth because it's the second time it's happened. You wish him all the best in the future at Juventus."
