Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher disagree on Marcus Rashford's Manchester United future

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have disagreed on the future of Marcus Rashford at Manchester United.

The 24-year-old missed the opening two months of the Premier League season with a shoulder injury and upon his return failed to live up to the performances which United fans have come to expect. In 32 matches this season, Rashford managed five goals and two assists as the Reds stumbled into next season's Europa League.

After United's 4-1 loss to Manchester City, MEN Sport revealed that Rashford was considering a move away from Old Trafford due to being left out of the starting XI to face the Blues. However, the forward is willing to remain at the Theatre of Dreams this season after they appointed Erik ten Hag.

Despite this, Carragher told Sky Bet's The Overlap that United should look to get rid of Rashford this summer. "He’s just not quite good enough for Manchester United, Marcus Rashford," Carragher said before giving a wink to presenter Josh Denzel.

"That’s all it is. That’s it, he’s not quite good enough for Manchester United.

"He’s Tottenham or Arsenal." Neville, exasperated by his Sky Sports colleagues comments responded: "He’s proven he’s good enough. I can’t let you get away with that."

Carragher doubled down on his opinion adding: "He’s not going to win you the league or the Champions League. You’d need the two up front with him to be megastars and he’d be the addition."

Ten Hag will be looking to improve his forward line this summer. Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani is certain to leave the club at the end of his contract.
