Gary Lineker 'scared' by Celtic and Rangers atmosphere while Micah Richards and Alan Shearer heap praise on fans

Gary Lineker says that he was left 'scared' by the atmosphere during an Old Firm clash.

The pundit joked during discussions with Alan Shearer and Micah Richards on the BBC Match of The Day podcast.

The three ex-players detailed their experiences of attending a Rangers and Celtic clash, with the trio admitting they atmosphere was "on a different planet" to anything they have experienced elsewhere.

Pretty incredible comments from Lineker who has experienced a number of El Classicos as a Barcelona player in his time.

During talks, Micah Richards was asked about his trip to Glasgow.

He responded: “Once. Never again. Forget that.

“[I went to] Celtic.

"I’ve never heard a noise like it. It’s incredible.”

Lineker described his experience working on Old Firms back when BBC held the rights over Scottish football's top flight - and he noted the racket that echoed from the fans in the stands.

The ex-striker reckons the noise, as well as the hatred between the sides, was on "another level".
