Gary Lineker responds to Aston Villa's Philippe Coutinho brilliance and drops Leeds United comment

Gary Lineker has hailed the impact made by Philippe Coutinho after he scored and registered two assists in a thrilling first-half performance against Leeds United.

Coutinho opened the scoring when he converted Matty Cash's cross and then created two goals for Jacob Ramsey in an enthralling clash at Villa Park.

It was his second goal he has scored for Villa having joined for the rest of the season on loan from Barcelona.

Dan James hit two goals for Leeds United as Villa led 3-2 at the break in a contest that was breathless for the neutral.

Coutinho's contribution caught the eye of Match of the Day host Lineker who Tweeted: "Good to see Coutinho making such an impact. Delightful footballer."

And as the action unfolded in a dramatic first half, Lineker added: "It’s all a bit bonkers at Villa Park. Classic @LUFC game."
