Gareth Southgate Considering Debut For In Form Premier League Star

Gareth Southgate has only got eight games to get his squad together for the World Cup in Qatar in November, and one player could soon make his debut.

This year things are different, with the tournament not happening until the end of November, so players still have time and matches to force their way in.

That starts next month, when the Euro 2020 runners up face Switzerland and Ivory.Coast in a pair of friendlies at Wembley, during the final international break of the season.

Southgate will have one eye on the World Cup with his squad so any player considered now has a chance to go to Qatar, and that's good news for in form midfielder Jacob Ramsey.

Ramsey has been in impressive form recently, with many claiming that Steven Gerrard's arrival at Villa Park in November has seen an upturn in his form.

Coutinho's arrival has also clearly had an impact on the Villa academy graduate, with the Brazilian assisting both goals midweek and the pair swapping goals and assists in the draw with Manchester United last month.

With England's midfield often missing a more creative force, as Southgate operates with two anchormen, he could be the perfect player to fit in.

Considering his age, Ramsey won't have to worry if he does miss out on the World Cup this year, and has plenty of tournaments to look forward to.

The countries decided against bid for the 2030 World Cup, deciding instead to try and host the Euros in six years, after Germany takes centre stage in 2024.
