Gabby Agbonlahor claims Man Utd need 15 new players this summer

Gabby Agbonlahor believes Manchester United need 15 new players to launch a resurgence following a disastrous performance against Brighton on Saturday.

The Red Devils sunk to a new low on the south coast at the Amex as a soulless display saw them go down 4-0 to the Seagulls for their 11th defeat of the season.

With that loss, United will finish on their lowest ever points tally in the Premier League this term and are hanging on to a Europa League place with their Champions League hopes now dashed.

Agbonlahor, the former Aston Villa forward, questions the commitment of United’s players and thinks incoming manager Erik ten Hag has a huge job on his hands to get the team back to the top.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: ‘When you look at that performance today they need 15 new players. Not one player in that team will Ten Hag look at from today’s performance and want to play next season.

‘They were not bothered, had no passion to play for Manchester United. I know we don’t like using the term they’re on the beach but it looked like they were.

‘Brighton are a good, good team but Manchester united should never be losing 4-0 to Brighton. They let the club down, the fans are singing you’re not fit to wear the shirt all of them were poor today.

‘It’s funny how you can’t blame Pogba for today, you can’t blame Harry Maguire. Maybe players like Raphael Varane need calling out because he’s been very poor this season.’

Raphael Varane, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho were all signed last summer by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with the aim of challenging for the title.
