Furious Kevin De Bruyne exchanges words with Pep Guardiola during Liverpool vs Man City title clash

Kevin De Bruyne was embroiled in a touchline spat with members of the Manchester City bench after he was substituted during his side's clash with Liverpool.

The Belgian international was brought off to be replaced by Mateo Kovacic after 69 minutes played on Merseyside and was left visibly frustrated by his manager's decision. It had been a puzzling afternoon for one of City's brightest stars, with Jurgen Klopp's men tactically marking him out of the game for large periods.

Opting to bring more control back to the Blues midfield, De Bruyne could be seen arguing with not only Guardiola but also other members of the bench, before taking his seat in an irate manner. City had taken the lead during the first half through John Stones, only for Alexis Mac Allister's penalty to draw Liverpool level in an entertaining top-of-the-table clash.

Gary Neville, working alongside Peter Drury and Jamie Carragher on duty for Sky Sports, explained how City's frustrations were merely coming to the front by the actions shown by De Bruyne on the touchline at Anfield earlier this afternoon.
