Furious Hibs fans unleash raging torrent on Euro flops as Lee Johnson tells them to 'calm down'

Lee Johnson was seen gesturing for Hibs fans to calm down after the team was met by a furious response following their 2-1 Europa Conference League defeat to minnows Inter D'Escaldes.

The Andorrans took the lead on 15 minutes in the odd looking surroundings of the stadium through Adria Gallego before making it two after a howler from veteran stopper David Marshall as the former Scotland international fumbled the ball into the path of forward Jean Luc Assoubre who tapped the ball into the net. Joe Newell netted a free-kick to give Johnson a lifeline ahead of the second leg at Easter Road – but that didn't spare him a raging response from the travelling support.

The defeat for Hibs ranks as one of worst ever for a Scottish side in Europe in terms of losing to a team from a country with a lower coefficient – only beaten by Celtic's defeat to Gibraltar outfit Lincoln Red Imps. And the hurting Hibees who made the journey to Andorra could be heard telling the team to "f*** off" and stating "we spent money to be here".

Johnson could then be seen gesturing his hands towards the ground as he attempted to lower the temperatures inside the tiny 600-seater ground. The Englishman then appeared to give a thumbs up to the fans before going down the tunnel.
