Martin Boyle BOOKS Luzern players as Hibs star sees funny side of Europa Conference League rammy

Martin Boyle saw the funny side of tempers flaring over the course of Hibs' Europa Conference League tie against Luzern on Thursday night - by taking the chance to BOOK his opponents after a yellow card fell out the pocket of referee Robertas Valikonis.

There were four yellow cards in as many minutes at Easter Road after a frantic second half saw both teams score to set up a tense final few minutes. Firstly, former Bundesliga star Max Meyer was booked for a rash challenge on the halfway line, before another brutal tackle from his teammate Kemal Ademi saw the Easter Road crowd incensed by what they thought to be red card offences.

Their anger certainly spilled out onto the pitch, and with a tussle just inside the Luzern half, Joe Newell kicked the ball away before coming to blows with centre-back Marco Burch - ensuing a coming together between various players of both sides.

But throughout all of the madness, cheeky chap Boyle offered a giggle for those at home watching on TV and in the stands. The Australian international found one of Valikonis’ yellow cards on the floor shortly after Newell was cautioned for booting the ball of a Luzern man - and cameras spotted him gleefully walking around booking every Swiss shirt in sight, before returning the card.
