Fulham 'plan move for Burnley's £20million-rated Nick Pope'

Fulham are targeting Burnley's Nick Pope to be their first-choice goalkeeper next season.

Marco Silva's side, who are eight points clear at the top of the Championship, are closing in on promotion to the Premier League and Pope is seen as a key target as the club look to get their recruitment done early, as reported by The Sun.

Burnley want £20million for Pope but that fee could be lowered if the Clarets end up getting relegated - they are currently in 19th place in the Premier League.

Pope has been at Burnley since 2016 and possesses a wealth of Premier League experience having made 130 appearances in the division.

Marek Rodak has featured regularly in goal for Fulham this season, and has kept ten clean sheets in 25 Championship appearances. Paulo Gazzaniga and Fabri are also at the club.

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is another option for Fulham, with the Cottagers more interested in a permanent deal than a loan.

Pope will hope to be part of the England squad at the World Cup in Qatar this winter.

The 29-year-old has been capped by his country on seven occasions and was in the squad for the 2018 World Cup.

Pope could be involved when England take on Ivory Coast in a friendly at Wembley on Tuesday night.
