Thomas Frank wants Christian Eriksen to stay at Brentford beyond this season after his fellow Dane masterminded the destruction of Chelsea.

The former Spurs signed a six-month deal in January after he was forced to leave Inter Milan because he could not wear an implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD) in Serie A.

Eriksen, who suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 game against Finland on June 12, scored twice for his country during the international break.

He is now destined to play in the World Cup in Qatar - and in the Premier League next season with the Bees now 11 points clear of the drop zone. And after his first goal for Brentford, Frank said: “I’m just very pleased that he’s playing for us. I think it’s no secret that I want him to continue next season.

"I know Christian is enjoying his football and really enjoying being back. I know I will have to answer these questions until the end of the season so let’s see what will happen. I think in any footballer’s decision to move clubs there’s a lot of aspects and the same will be for Christian.
