"Going to want to make this work" - Insider drops big Man Utd claim on frustrated £75m-rated ace

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is desperate to turn his Old Trafford career around as he is ‘United born and bred’, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

There are question marks over whether the 46-cap England international will remain with the Red Devils beyond the end of the season as he looks to force his way back into Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad ahead of the World Cup taking place in Qatar later this year.

Ralf Rangnick was appointed as Manchester United’s interim manager following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last November, but the German’s arrival at Old Trafford has not necessarily paid off for Rashford.

In fact, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed Rashford is considering his future after becoming concerned over the lack of action he has been offered during Rangnick’s short-term reign.

Being overlooked for last month’s Manchester derby, which saw midfielder Bruno Fernandes deployed as a false nine in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani, appeared to be the final straw.

Rashford entered the final 18 months of his Old Trafford contract at the turn of the year, with his £200,000-per-week deal due to expire in the summer of 2023, but there is an option for the agreement to be extended by another year.

Despite being valued at £63million by Transfermarkt and even more by the CIES Football Observatory – £75million – it has been suggested by Spanish sources that Manchester United could be willing to sanction his departure if a bid in the region of £50million is tabled.

It comes after Rashford’s performances this season were branded as ‘shocking’ by former Scotland international striker Frank McAvennie.
