Fulham loanee Marlon Fossey gives Bolton Wanderers Morecambe message after Gillingham success

Marlon Fossey is expecting Bolton will encounter a direct approach when they take on Morecambe tomorrow evening but the wing-back feels Wanderers' quality will come out on top if they stick to their style of play.

Wanderers picked up three points on the road in convincing style when they beat Gillingham 3-0 at Priestfield on Saturday afternoon.

They will be seeking to make it back-to-back victories in League One when they take on the Shrimps tomorrow evening at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Fossey is expecting to come up against a similar approach the Gills had when they take on Morecambe and a direct style of play.

But as they proved on Saturday, the Fulham loanee feels that the quality they have in the squad can come out on top and that they cannot play direct well enough against side which try and do that to them.

And with 10 games left of the season to go, Fossey is anticipating clashes against sides all with something to play for as they intend to give it everything between now and the end of the season.

He said: "Gillingham, with all due respect to them, they have sort of been our bogey team. Direct team, not the most glamorous of pitches, so I think we did well to show ourselves that we can dominate those sorts of teams. We stuck to our style of play, we didn’t get caught in the trap of playing direct like them. Yeah, it was a convincing win.

"I think having a week leading up to the game made a big difference. The fluidity and some of the play was there on show. Just having that week to go through those patterns of play and set-pieces, I think we sort of eradicated any threat they had but at the same time
