MJ Williams gives Bolton Wanderers dressing room view of League One play-offs state of play

MJ Williams is targeting a strong end to the season at Bolton Wanderers and keep putting points on the board in a bid to try and reach the play-offs this season or help build for next campaign.

Wanderers sit 10 points from the League One top six after the 1-0 loss at the Unversity of Bolton Stadium to Plymouth Argyle over the weekend.

Wanderers went behind just before half-time after Macaulay Gillesphey headed home from Jordan Houghton's corner and it proved to be decisive.

Wanderers have eight games left to go in their season and are now in an outside chance of making the play-offs this campaign.

Williams knows that Wanderers have had adversity this season which has set them on the back foot but they will keep doing all they can to keep putting points on the board between now and the end of April and finish the campaign strong, whether that leads to the play-offs or not in the 2021/22 campaign or builds towards 2022/23.

He said: "The target for us is to keep putting the points on the board, finish strong, whether that is for the play-offs or for next season.

"We have shown since January what a good team we are and obviously we had that blip before Christmas where we had all the injuries and Covid – it set us back – but I think the second half of the season has been brilliant. We will keep working hard to put ourselves into the right place.

“It is a tall order but we need to concentrate on ourselves and get as many points on the board as possible now, keep building as a team.

“Every day we work on being a better side and it should show on the pitch as well.
